Choosing A Yamaha PWC
For decades, the Yamaha Motor Company has been an innovator in the powersports industry, and that includes the field of personal watercraft. Their rapid developments during the 1980s helped them to dominate the field of watersports and with so many diverse products, it’s easy to see why!
Dunfords of Havelock, serving all of Ontario, is your local PWC dealer, offering Yamaha PWC for sale, so we’ve outlined some of the history of their top-selling crafts to help you decide whether a WaveRunner® is in your near future!
WaveRunner® Development
In the late 1980s, the WaveRunner came about as a result of the company’s involvement in boat manufacturing a few years prior. The sit-down, open-stern PWC dazzled marine fans who were eager to ride it and enjoy its agility in the water and easy rideability. Even a novice could ride the WaveRunner!
Through the 1990s, Yamaha maintained their top position by making further improvements to the WaveRunner to ensure their place as a leader in the PWC arena.
By 2002, the FX® 140 WaveRunner made waves as the first watercraft with a four-stroke engine on the market. It ran smoothly and gave the user unbeatable fuel economy with a hull designed to improve stability, making it extremely popular.
In 2008, Yamaha began to manufacture their WaveRunners with NanoXcel® in the hulls, a composite material that’s 25% lighter than standard hull material that was sheet-molded. This only made their crafts more agile and fuel-efficient.
WaveJammer® & WaveBlaster®
In 1987, soon after the release of the WaveRunner, the WaveJammer was another sit-down style PWC with a small hull and solo seating to improve its aquatic agility. In 1991, this model was discontinued and replaced in 1993 by the WaveBlaster, which was a two-person watercraft that rode more like a motorcycle in the water with its powerful engine.
SuperJet™
1990 saw the release of the SuperJet, a stand-up style PWC that’s still in production nearly 30 years later! Its two-stroke engine and hull constructed of sheet-molded composite is durable enough to withstand bumps. The SuperJet demonstrated the company’s commitment to always improving upon their designs and giving the people what they want in a watercraft.
As you can see, the selection offered by Yamaha is pretty unbeatable, suiting both novice riders and experts equally well. Seeking Yamaha watercraft for sale near Kingston?
